Who are We?
Strand Med was founded in 2007 by Doctor Jussi Rantanen. He is a consultant level practising orthopaedic surgeon with 20 years of experience in healthcare business and management. He wanted to provide an active clinician’s point of view into healthcare business projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, as well as business development.

It can be challenging for a non-medical person to evaluate or manage complex medical processes in a hospital setting. The medical staff may mislead their managers into poor business decisions by quoting medical reasons, and, in particular, patient safety.
When ambitious healthcare development projects fail to provide the success promised, it is often due to resistance by the medical professionals – they reluctantly undergo the unwanted changes in their daily routines. Unmotivated medical staff can easily hide behind medical jargon in their resistance against changes.
